Movie thoughts….
Finally got around to see Black Swan last night—excellent film, but in my opinion it lacked a few basic points to make it an instant classic. Mainly, the director of the ballet was not fleshed out enough. If he is the main jolt to set Nina on her journey of perfection, then she is set off with a small bump instead of a electric shock. Overall though, I’m nitpicking. Great movie and Portman deserves her Oscar, but because of the problem with the catalyst of the story and problems with the screenplay itself, the film can not complete with King’s Speech or The Fighter.
